The Panama Center for Conciliation and Arbitration (CeCAP), based at the Chamber of Commerce, Industries and Agriculture of Panama (CCIAP), officially launched the second edition of Panama’s Arbitration & ADR Week, a high-level academic and professional event to be held from March 15 to 19.
The launch took place during a cocktail reception that brought together representatives from the legal, business, and institutional sectors, marking the beginning of the countdown to one of the region’s most important events in arbitration, mediation, and alternative dispute resolution (ADR).
At the event, José Javier Rivera, Vice President of the Panama Center for Conciliation and Arbitration, highlighted the country’s strengths as a regional center for arbitration and alternative dispute resolution, emphasizing the regulatory framework, institutional support, and the strength of the Panamanian arbitration community.
For four days, Panama’s Arbitration & ADR Week will bring together leading national and international professionals to analyze the latest trends, strengthen technical knowledge, and exchange practical experiences in dispute resolution. The agenda includes keynote addresses, panel discussions, specialized workshops, networking opportunities, and social activities.
Liliana Sánchez, director of CeCAP, emphasized that the event has been designed to generate a real impact on professional practice, connecting specialized knowledge with current market needs and the challenges of dispute resolution in the region.
The academic program includes numerous activities. The National and International Arbitration Conference will be held on March 16 and 17. Similarly, on Tuesday, March 17, the CIAC Women’s Conference, “Current Risks and Challenges for Digital Evidence in International Arbitration: Implementation of Best Practices,” will take place.
On March 17, the TADPAN – CeCAP – Olympic Committee Conference, “Justice on the Field: Conflicts, Rules, and Sports Arbitration at the FIFA World Cup and the 2026 South American Youth Games,” will take place.
For young lawyers, the agenda for Wednesday, March 18, includes the PANYARB – CIAC Young Lawyers – CeCAP Conference, “The Arbitration Hearing Under Pressure: Global Best Practices and Their Application in the Latin American Procedural Reality.”
Also on March 18, the CIAC Arbitrators Workshop, “International Arbitration under the New CIAC Rules: A Platform for Latin American Practitioners,” will be held.
On Thursday, March 19, the event will feature “Dispute Boards in Construction Contracts: The New Face of Dispute Resolution in the Construction Sector in Panama.” Additionally, the conference “Mediation and Conciliation: Bridges and Solutions as Value Generators” will be held.
The program for the second edition of Panama’s Arbitration & ADR Week is geared toward practicing arbitration lawyers, in-house counsel, arbitrators, mediators, expert witnesses, Dispute Board experts, representatives of arbitration funding entities, public officials, executives from private companies in the banking, construction, insurance, logistics, real estate, energy, and sports sectors, as well as law students.
